Construction Project Coordinator

We are seeking a Construction Project Coordinator responsible for coordinating and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. This includes planning, organizing, and managing resources to ensure timely completion of projects.  The Construction Project Coordinator works closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed according to plan and meet all necessary regulations and quality standards.

This position requires effective organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

About the position

  • Work with architects and engineers to design new building construction and existing building upgrades.
  • Compile bid packages and review bid submissions to ensure competitive pricing of contractors and compliance with certain grant requirements.
  • Coordinate construction work to ensure adherence to projected timeframes and budgets of projects.
  • Monitors progress of projects and after consultation with the Vice President, resolve issues that would adversely impact completion of the project.   
  • Report on progress of projects to Vice President and Board Facilities Committee.
  • Evaluate contractor invoices for payment at the appropriate time and final payments.
  • Coordinate change orders.
  • Compile necessary documents to ensure compliance with grant agencies.
  • Be a crucial member of the Facilities Planning Committee and assistance in the compiling of the annual capital project budget.

The coordinator should be able to work a flexible schedule with some early morning, evening, and weekends required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, architecture or construction management.
